I often talk about owning quality companies long term. Usually, it takes a few years for the market to reflect the intrinsic value of my positions and that is OK with me.

With society's focus on immediate gratification, waiting for the opportunity to be recognized is often not a strategy many individual investors pursue. Most mutual fund portfolio managers do not have the incentives to follow this approach because their holders do not have the patience to wait for the "seed to become flowering plant".

It is good that most investors are not farmers. Good things take time to play out and investment is no different.

Today PETS's stock is shooting up with higher revenues and earnings than estimates. I own shares from 2011 and 2012 when most investors were fearful of going into the market.

PETS provides medications by mail for pet owners. Most individuals will pay for the health of their loved ones, including pets.

Be smart, buy cheap and hold long term. You can do very well in the market with the right approach.
