GM is climbing today. I bought it right after the election when the PE was about 4.
They are still pretty cheap at a 7 PE. While there will be bumps in the road, it provides a good dividend. Mary Barra is doing a great job shaking the stuffy culture out of an American Icon.
You should read Barra's book, she really has some great qualities that you don't find in many executives these days.
She is rather grounded because she came from the bottom. Her upbringing was very modest and her Dad was a union worker. Therefore, she understands "both sides of the coin".
She actually was the head of one of their biggest plants, ran their personnel function for the company,and was involved in the negotiations when GM was almost bankrupt. She is also a logical thinking engineer.
I put my money down. She is one excellent person and leader. Leadership is the most important ingredient of any successful company.
There is something about Mary!
