My wife loves a great deal when she shops and I follow in her footsteps. There is nothing like getting a great deal. But in order to get a great deal, you have to know when you have one in hand. Researching the market for anything is the only way to identify those deals. It doesn’t matter if it’s a car, a house, a TV, groceries or a stock. Good research takes time and effort. Don’t expect someone to just hand over great insights. There is no free lunch.
Today the Dow dropped almost 500 points and yesterday it dropped over 350 points. Many might think I am crazy, but drops like that are what floats my boat. I buy my stocks like I buy my groceries. If it isn't on sale or it isn't a good deal, I am not buying.
Though the market dropped a good amount in the last few days, we could be in for a very severe storm coming up. I'm keeping my powder dry and waiting for the real bargains to show themselves. The key is to be patient. All good things come to those who wait.
While I want to buy when the deals are on, I never wait till the price is rock bottom. Mainly, I wait until I see a pretty good deal and trickle some in. If it goes lower, I get a little more and so on. If you wait for the absolute bottom to buy anything, you'll always be kicking yourself for missed opportunities.
Keep a sharp eye out for those deals. “There’s gold in them hills!”
