Charlie Munger! How I love to listen to his words of wisdom.

Charlie Munger recently passed.  I think he was close to 100.  He was Warren Buffett's right-hand man.

Charlie was smart as a whip and he loved to teach.  I find those investors near to the end of a long career and life are often very open to providing their investment insights.  When I speak of investment insights, I'm not saying he gives people specific stock selections, but he discusses more important matters.  These matters are the paradigms he uses to think and invest in the markets.

Charlie was a self-made billionaire, just as Buffett is. While Charlie can provide very pithy and biting comments, what he says is right to the point and he gets his point across.

I am reading his last book, Poor Charlie's Almanack.  As always, he provides troves of insights for new and even well-seasoned investors.  A key point of his is that it is essential to be well-read in many subject matters.  This gives him the breadth of knowledge to be successful in investing.  If you are not reading, you're likely not going to have even a fraction of Charlie's success.  Charlie was never afraid to "go against the grain" and be a contrarian.

This is a quote from the beginning of his book:

"Acquire worldly wisdom and adjust your behavior accordingly.  If your new behavior gives you a little temporary unpopularity with your peer group...  then to hell with them."  - Charlie Munger

Be smart, be well-read, be aware and be successful.
