Fixing and learning....fixing and learning

I have always loved Jonathan Clements' writing.  I always read his articles when he had a column in The Wall Street Journal.  Thanks for the great education you have provided to me Jonathan!

This is an interesting article about HVAC system issues.  While not directly about finance, it is about understanding if you should fix or repair your HVAC system and possibly save money.

Here is the comment I made to his posting:

“I really like the “change up” article! I am one of those people with an innate interest in most everything. That is one of the reasons I enjoy equities so much. Every stock is an opportunity to learn about a new business. I also am that guy who fixes his own car, house, computer or whatever. While frustrating at times and not always efficient, you learn a great deal and often save money. “

“I have gone through EXACTLY this HVAC issue a number of times. If I can’t fix it, you can be assured I am asking the tech who comes a lot of questions and watching his troubleshooting. This article filled in some missing pieces for me and confirmed others about HVAC systems. The $2 capacitor has saved me from a $300+ bill multiple times! “

“Who says an equity analyst/ finance/accounting guy can’t roll up his sleeves and put on overalls to “get er done.”

“As always...great post!”
