FSU may have a new coach - can their boosters be patient this time?

Just like business, college football has been infected with short-termism.  Nothing happens over- night.  Turning around a company, a career or a football team requires time. There are no magic beans.  The biggest change that must be made will be continuing to change the poor culture that Fisher instilled and that Taggard was working on. Unfortunately, culture changes are the most difficult of challenges, but it can be done.  The key will be patience by the boosters, the fans, the administration, the players and the coaches.

While I am a PSU fan, my three kids, my wife and wife's family are all FSU fans.  The team has great potential, but will the team's support structure be able to their temper their expectations?  I hope so.

I believe leaving Willie Taggart go was a big mistake and many of the secondary affects were ignored.   The financial costs as well as personnel costs will both be high.   Recruits and younger players are surely wondering if their college careers will be decimated by all the adversity of the last several years. Many players may leave and recruits are already de-committing.   Older players will likely move on to the pros early, if they can.  I am hopeful, but I believe the program is now further in the hole after Fisher devastated it and Taggart was let go.

In business, there are always underdogs that are moving up and superstars that are moving down.

To those FSU fans, keep the faith.  It can be done.  PSU did it after the Sandusky debacle when people thought the program would be in a deep freeze for many years.

Patience. Patience. Patience.
