Nobody wanted Intel in 2012 and 2013 when I established a position. At the time their dividend was over 4%.
Yes, there were questions about the "death" of the PC market which was their bread and butter. Since that time they have been evolving and growing. Today, the revenue and earning numbers are starting to shine though. In the meantime, I got paid 4% to wait and they are increasing their dividend by 10%. Nice!
The one analyst has a sell rating. His logic is that AMD is going to start "taking a material share" from Intel. That said, I don't agree. AMD was an early holding of mine which I held for 10 years and I believed the same thing as the analyst. Each time AMD made progress, Intel beat them to the punch and retook market share. I don't think it is going to happen now either. I have seen it played out multiple times.
AMD was a learning experience for me. David does not always beat Goliath! I'll keep my odds on Goliath.
