This is one of the primary focuses of Judo and is the bushido or way of the warrior. To learn from being thrown is essential to learning how to throw. Many would think this is counter intuitive, but the Judoist's body and mind learns the flow of their opponent's movements and actions through this evolution. Eventually, they become a better thrower or tori as they refine their skill sets.
Moreover, this process teaches the Judoka (player) to learn from failure and thus, become successful in other avenues they pursue in their lives.
