This problem hits all economic brackets!
As my mom used to say, "It's not what you earn, it's what you keep." I find that most of the problems are not educational issues, but are behavioral issues.
In today's environment of technology and immediacy , people are accustomed to seeing something, wanting it and getting it NOW! When I was growing up with parents who grew up during the great depression, we NEVER got anything immediately. Man, how things have changed.
I never thought I would say this, but I am thankful that my parents were careful and frugal with my brother, sisters and me. It taught me way more! Anticipation is a great motivator. Without it, life isn't the same.
As Heinz used to advertise for their Ketchup, "Anticipation.... is making me wait...."
