Softbank has been writing up their investment in WeWork recently.  Their investment and markups have put the potential IPO initially at a $47 billion valuation. Since the company is private and unique, there is no comparable company to compare it to.  It sounds to me tlike someone with a vested interest told the public the value!  Now that's self-serving. WTF

Many are now saying that its value is less than 15 Billion.  This number is squishy as well.  Maybe its worth a negative 15 billion.  Who knows?  What we do know it that it couldn't be valued as a positive value using discounted earnings. It's losing money at an increasing rate.

Why don't they just forget the IPO?  If it is something really great with fantastic prospects, why don't they just keep it themselves?    People always give great businesses away. Right?
